Inter-School Competition

Inter-School Competition

The Temple Ewell and District Produce Association are looking to encourage Primary School children to grow vegetables and fruit and enter them in an Inter School Competition at our Summer Show at Temple Ewell Village hall. Keep an eye on our events page for the date.

The vegetables and fruit should be grown on either the Schools garden/allotment by the children themselves, perhaps each year group could grow a different vegetable or fruit.

What you need to grow for the Competition:

Each Primary School can submit 1 Seed Tray with up to 4 different types of produce (3 of each kind). The entries would then be brought to the village hall in the morning, will be judged and awarded points and the winning school will receive a Shield that will be engraved and can be kept for a year, until it is contested again. Please ensure a representative of your school is at prize-giving at 4pm in case of the winning entry.

If your school is interested in taking part in this annual event and would like to help encourage more young people to actively take part in gardening, please don’t hesitate to contact us at: [email protected]
